Welcome to our new Members – Merril Gray

Next meeting is Saturday, 8th December, 2007 at 1 pm

MONTHLY RAFFLETickets are $1 in the monthly raffles.  There are always a variety of items to be won and all monies raised by the raffles are used to buy research resources for the use of Club Members.  (List of new resources will be included in the Hindsight)

OPENING HOURS - PLEASE NOTE:  While we make every effort to keep the Club open at the rostered times, a shortage of volunteers means we are unable to provide emergency cover for rostered volunteers who are unable to attend due to other commitments.  Also be aware, that if the rostered duty persons are the only members in attendance, at approx. 1pm on Mondays, the Club will close early.  Please understand if you arrive to find the Clubrooms closed. If in doubt, please phone.

Christmas Hamper Raffle

If you have any items to donate for the Christmas Hamper Raffle, now is the time to bring them into the Club.  All donations, big or small, are appreciated.  Tickets are $1 each, and hopefully there will be lots of prizes.  Drawn at the December meeting (8th December)

Don’t forget the Australia Day Raffle –

1st prize is a dressing table and stool – restored and donated by Jack Piper

AND

2nd prize – A Comprehensive Atlas of the World (a coffee table book!) – donated by Janet O’Flaherty

Tickets are $1.00 each and available from the office staff.

Some Bishop's Transcripts of Cumberland, England

(BISHOP'S TRANSCRIPTS are "true and perfect" copies of the Records of a Parish which are sent annually to the appropriate Bishop for his record of activities in his Diocese. As well as Parish Record data such as Baptisms, Marriages and Burials they also sometimes additionally contain "Presentments" to the Bishop concerning such matters as repairs, finance, misdeeds by parishioners, etc.)
