JULY GUEST SPEAKER  - 25th July (Saturday) - at 1 pm - Guest speaker, Judy Valentine, great grand daughter of William Landsborough.  It will be a very entertaining afternoon, so come along.

CLUB CLOSURES IN AUGUST - The club rooms will be closed on Monday 10th August and Wednesday 12th August owing to public holidays for THE EKKA.

AUGUST - GUEST SPEAKER - We are hoping to organise for someone from the State Archives to come along and tell us 'how it works', what they have that could help us with our research, etc.

Then a short time after, a trip to the State Archives is planned  We can get a 20 seater bus which will cost each person $12.50 return from our Club front door to the Archives and back to the Club front door.  If you drove there yourself, think of the petrol costs, the Gateway Bridge toll, the traffic, etc., so definitely a much better option to go by bus.  To make this a viable proposition, there will need to be 20 people going.  Payment of bus fare is in advance and there will be no refunds.  Date to be decided.

DON’T FORGET - CHANGE OF MEETING DATE - Next meeting will be at 1pm on Saturday 15th August, 2009

29th August (Saturday) - Genealogical Society of Queensland have a full day conference with excellent speakers - Info on notice board.

13th September (Sunday) - Hervey Bay Family History conference - more info on the notice board

The Marysville Hist. Soc. has thanked us for our Club donation and has in return, sent us a book for our Library - Highway to Heaven, about Marysville and District.

With regards the rejuvenation of the Town Square and what it will mean for our Club, we are waiting to see what the Council has on offer.  Things are only at an early stage at present, so it is too early to make an informed decision.  A representative from the Council will be attending our 15th August meeting so if you can, please try to attend this meeting.
